Beth Christian was an Emergency Physician who worked in Australia, Ireland and the UK. She was proud to be a Fellow of both the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and of the College of Emergency Medicine of the UK and Ireland.
She died at the age of 47 in 2014. Although she knew that her illness was incurable for the last 3 years of her life she continued to work as an Emergency Physician until 2 months before her death. Beth was passionate about Emergency Medicine and inspired many trainees on both sides of the world.
Her family, friends and colleagues have established a travelling scholarship in her memory to recognise her contribution to the specialty of Emergency Medicine. This recognises Beth’s career spanning two hemispheres and promotes working between the healthcare systems in Australasia and the British Isles.
The scholarship will support a trainee to travel to either Australasia or the UK/Ireland for the purposes of furthering their training and career.
